Background

Ian began his career in retail banking in 1979 for one of the UK’s largest banks. From there he moved into a business development role for a company specializing in providing full and partial outsourcing solutions for the IT and operations departments of large organizations.

Ian went on to work for SPi where he was instrumental in growing the company to become one of the world’s leading independent outsourcing solution providers. From the Head of Global Marketing and Business Development, Ian became responsible for two business units of the company and ultimately became Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.

Over a 12 year period with SPi, Ian was responsible for:-

• Helping to grow the company from a revenue of US$5M to US$200M
• Establishing companies and 12 production facilities in the US, Philippines, China, Mexico, Vietnam and India, involving over 6,000 seats for 11,000 Full Time Employees
• World-wide operations and Support Services including:-
  • Global Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Facilities development and management
  • Corporate Quality
    • ISO
    • Six Sigma
    • BS7799 Information Security
    • Continuous Improvement Teams
• Integration of new acquisitions
• Negotiating Joint Venture agreements
• Representing the company with Government Departments, Embassies, Trade Delegations and Educational Institutions.

More recently, Ian was Vice President – Corporate Shared Services Development for a Fortune 10 financial services company. Ian was responsible for:-

• The development of the company’s Corporate Shared Service Centers, globally
• The set up of new shared services operations and expansion of existing operations
• Hiring of key support and operations personnel
• Facilities development and management
